Bosnia & Herzegovina, Europe and Eurasia | Judicial Capacity Building: Enforcing Intellectual Property Laws Workshop
CLDP will organize a pilot program on enforcement of intellectual property in response to needs expressed by the BiH government, the BiH business community, and the BiH legal community. Long term sustainability of this pilot program will be achieved by: (1) training a BiH judge and prosecutor during two weeks of consultations in the US on the enforcement and adjudication of IPR; these instructors will then take part in a workshop and continue teaching at the FBiH Center for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training; (2) with CLDP's support, these instructors will prepare judicial benchbooks on the enforcement of IP laws which will then be used during the workshop in Sarajevo and by the FBiH Center for Judicial and Prosecutorial Training; (3) with input from leading BiH IP lawyers, CLDP will develop country-specific case studies to be used during the workshop and to be included in the benchbooks; and (4) CLDP will conduct a four-day workshop on Enforcing Intellectual Property Rights in Sarajevo. The workshop, for a group of 25 judges and prosecutors representing the various entities within BiH, will consist of the country-specific case studies, roundtable discussions and interactive working sessions. The objective of the judicial cooperation pilot program is to help create, over the next two years, a critical mass of BiH judges and prosecutors trained in the enforcement of IP laws.
