Isabel Crist

International Program Specialist

Isabel Crist is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), a division of the Office of the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of Commerce.  Ms. Crist works primarily on programs in the Middle East and North Africa, which focus on customs and trade-related programs, government procurement, and contract enforcement. 

Prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Crist completed a Fulbright English Teaching scholarship in Romania, where she taught American culture and identity and business English to university students. Prior to her Fulbright grant, she taught English in Brazil and Guatemala. She was also a Rotary Youth Exchange student in Strasbourg, France.  

Ms. Crist grew up in southern New Mexico and graduated from New Mexico State University. She received Bachelor of Arts in History and Foreign Languages with a major focus in French and a minor focus in Portuguese. She speaks French fluently, and intermediate Spanish and Portuguese.
