Macey Mayes

International Program Specialist

Macey Mayes is an International Program Specialist with the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), a division of the Office of the General Counsel under the U.S. Department of Commerce. She works primarily on CLDP’s energy transition initiatives, specifically the Clean EDGE Asia portfolio.

Prior to joining CLDP, Ms. Mayes worked in antidumping and countervailing duty law as an International Trade Compliance Analyst for the International Trade Administration in the Office of Enforcement and Compliance. Previously, she worked for the legal compliance team at Sazerac, Inc. as a Global Trade Analyst, ensuring Sazerac’s import-export spirits division complied with U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s standards.

Before her career in international trade, Ms. Mayes interned with Yayasan SATUNAMA Yogyakarta, an Indonesian democracy-building non-profit, while a U.S. Department of Defense Boren Scholar in Indonesia. She also taught English to secondary students in Malaysia through the U.S. Department of State Fulbright Program.

Ms. Mayes received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, as well as minors in Humanities and Women and Gender Studies, from the University of Louisville in Kentucky, where she also studied abroad in China and Thailand. She speaks Bahasa Indonesia.
