From June 19-20, CLDP organized a workshop on Judicial Ethics and Case Management for 126 judicial candidates in Baku, Azerbaijan. The workshop was held in coordination with the Azerbaijan Justice Academy as part of one-year curriculum for judicial candidates. The workshop aimed to train the candidates on international best practices and standards in judicial ethics and deliver basic principles of case management to facilitate transparent and efficient adjudication of commercial disputes. U.S. District Court Judges Jed S. Rakoff and Kimba M. Wood from the Southern District of New York served as experts for the workshop. Azerbaijan has one of the lowest judge-to-population ratios in the region, and this workshop is part of a multi-phase CLDP effort on judicial capacity building in Azerbaijan focusing on judicial candidates.
