On December 6-7, in Rangoon, Burma, CLDP held the 2^nd Burmese National Vis competition for teams from Yangon, Mandalay, and Dagon University Law Schools. The competition, first organized by CLDP last year, prepares students to take part in the Willem C. Vis Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot), the preeminent commercial arbitration practice exercise in the world. Involving Burmese law students and professors in the Vis Moot is an effective way to build capacity in commercial arbitration as an alternative dispute resolution, which is still lacking in Burma. This year’s competition winner is the Yangon University, who will represent Burma in the East Vis Moot competition in Hong Kong in March, 2020.
