CLDP organized a Workshop on E-Procurement in Baku, Azerbaijan on October 29, 2014. The workshop was held in coordination with the State Procurement Agency of Azerbaijan; the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; and SIGMA, a joint initiative of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and the European Union. About thirty participants, including Azerbaijani government officials and representatives from international organizations, attended the workshop. The program presented case studies on best practices in developing e-procurement systems in Turkey, Croatia, Georgia, and the United States. The workshop aims to assist the Azerbaijani government in its development of an e-procurement system in order to establish an efficient, transparent, and effective public procurement system consonant with international best practices and attractive to potential trade and investment partners.
