On May 14-15 CLDP in partnership with the UAE Dubai Economic Council (DEC), hosted together with Ernst & Young and Latham & Watkins, a policy conference entitled, "Towards a Legal Regulation of Financial Restructuring & Bankruptcy". This two-day program of insolvency experts from United Kingdom, United States, Singapore, and United Arab Emirates (UAE) provided a forum for discussion about international standards and best practices of Insolvency Laws. A discussion of the UAE draft Insolvency Law was organized on the second day to provide the private sector a glimpse on the government's direction.  There were over 350 attendees representing a spectrum of private law and accounting firms, financial institutions, and government bodies, and included the Minister of Justice and the Chairman of DEC.
