Iraq Guide for Drafting International Arbitration Clauses

In an effort to promote foreign investment in Iraq, the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), created jointly with Iraqi officials, an Arbitration Guidebook to help Iraqi lawyers in the government and in the private sector draft effective and enforceable arbitration clauses.  The “Guide for Drafting International Arbitration Clauses” is the product of a two-year CLDP program and features guidelines that outline the use of arbitration clauses based on the priorities, importance, and nature of the contract. In addition, the guidebook provides model clauses that have been developed by various well-known international bodies, incorporates international principles, and includes an exhaustive list of online arbitration resources.
