From May 1-3, CLDP sponsored a delegation from Kosovo’s Independent Commission for Mines and Minerals (ICMM) to the 5th Annual Current Trends in Mining Finance conference held by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy, and Exploration in New York City. The conference included more than 200 participants from 20 countries and covered best practices in mining finance, mining regulations, managing mineral resources and reserves, engaging stakeholders for success, and managing mining project execution. CLDP also organized a consultation between the ICMM and Columbia University’s Center on Sustainable Investment to discuss strategic goals for Kosovo’s budding mining industry and effective strategies to attract foreign investment. On May 5, the delegation attended meetings organized by CLDP in Washington with the Department of State and several offices of the Department of Interior.
