On May 21-May 25, CLDP organized a series of Kyrgyzstan-Georgia consultations on hospitality industry development. The program brought a select group of hotel managers from Kyrgyzstan’s Issyk-Kul Region and representatives of Kyrgyzstan’s Ministry of Culture and Tourism to Georgia to consult on hotel management  and development practices with their counterparts in the Republic of Georgia, where the tourism sector is presently undergoing rapid development.  Included in the program were consultations with a series of Georgian hotel managers from the Tbilisi, Kakheti and Batumi regions of Georgia, as well as meetings with representatives of Georgian trade associations and government agencies. The program introduced Kyrgyz hotel operators and managers to success stories from a relatively comparable economic environment, and sought to foster ideas about how to collaborate with government and civil society stakeholders in regional tourism development initiatives.
