CLDP in conjunction with the Qatari Public Prosecution office, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Organization for Economic Development (OECD) organized a Private Sector Integrity and Economic Development in Gulf Countries conference on May 10-11, 2011 in Doha, Qatar.  This conference brought together the government and business community from the Gulf Corporation Council (GCC) countries to discuss the obligations of these countries under the United Nations Convention Against Corruption (UNCAC).  Representatives from the GCC countries and the private sector also discussed topics such as the impact of corruption on economic growth, the public/private sector interface to fight corruption and corporate compliance and integrity codes.  The opening session included remarks from Mr. Cameron Kerry, General Counsel of the US Department of Commerce and H.E. Dr. Ali bin Ftais Al-Marri, Attorney General of the State of Qatar.  The event was held at the Ritz Carlton in Doha, Qatar and was attended by over 60 delegates from the public and private sectors.
