From April 23-24, 2024, CLDP will convene a delegation of Kosovar customs officials in Paris, France to meet with French customs authorities and attend training sessions on the risk assessment procedures and other processes used by French customs officials. The delegation will visit the General Directorate of France, the Regional Directorate of Paris, and France’s National Risk Analysis Center where French customs officials will discuss best practices in customs procedures, focusing in particular on risk management and post-clearance audit. With the help of a customs expert, CLDP will lead a series of discussions with the Kosovar delegation that will focus on the prospects and challenges of implementing these best practices in Kosovo. These discussions will result in the identification of gaps and recommendations that will guide the next phase of this capacity building project. The overall purpose of this project is to improve Kosovar customs efficiency and encourage closer adherence to international best practices in customs procedures.
