Algerian Technology Entrepreneurs to Participate in Capacity-Building Workshop Led by USMAC Incubator

-
CLDP organized a capacity-building workshop in the U.S. for a delegation of 11 Algerian participants involved in the development of technology-based entrepreneurship in Algeria. The delegation consisted of promising entrepreneurs operating in Algeria’s Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) sector, private-sector experts, and representatives from the Agence Nationale de Valorisation des Résultats de la Recherche et du Développement Technologique (ANVREDET) representing Algeria’s Ministry of Higher Education and the Agence Nationale des Parcs Technologiques (ANPT), representing Algeria’s Ministry of Posts and of Information and Communications Technology.

The workshop was led by and held at the offices of the US Market Access Center (USMAC), a leading US ICT business incubator. It primarily focused on (1) Legal issues critical for ICT start-ups such as software development agreements, intellectual property protection, and licensing agreements, (2) business model evaluation techniques, (3) financing models, and (4) mentoring. The Algerian delegates also had the opportunity to spend time with Algerian-American entrepreneurs who have successfully launched business ventures and were willing to serve as mentors for the delegation's entrepreneurs.

This program was funded by the U.S. Embassy in Algeria to help promote technology-based entrepreneurship in the country.
